Concert at M.B.C. for the 4th International Accordion Festival (Co-organized by UOM and M.B.C.)

06.09.2021

Lazaros Koulaxizis is the last living member of the Koulaxizis family, the most important link to the history of the Accordion in Greece.
The  Accordion was brought to Greece 99 years ago by refugees from Istanbul, initially in the form of the harmonica – a related instrument. Lazaros Koulaxizis belongs to the second generation of a family of musicians, who after a long journey in the international music scene, brought the Accordion back to the Greek music scene in the 1980s, collaborating with the most important personalities of that time.
The festival, in honor of his overall journey and his unique contribution in the music scene,
organizes a concert dedicated to him with Dimos Vougioukas,
one of the main successors of the Greek musical tradition of the accordion.
Lazaros Koulaxizis will attend as the Guest of Honour.
Dimos Vougioukas, accordion
Kyriakos Gouventas, violin
Dimitris Koufogiorgos guitar
George Τsiatsoulis, bass
