A one-day conference was organised in June 2003 on the subject of the educational activities of the city's museums and other cultural institutions, with the aim of helping those involved in educational programmes to get to know one another and exchange views and encouraging co-operation. It was attended by forty-two people from various local museums and cultural institutions.

The museum also took part in the Ministry of Culture's 'Open days' initiative by running two educational programmes, a workshop for adults and children, which was attended by ninety-three people, and a theatre workshop, in which thirty-two children participated.

In the framework of the 'Days of expression and creativity' events, dedicated to the memory of Melina Mercouri, the same theatre workshop was held in 2004, with 123 children from six local schools participating.
