Press release about the participation of the Museum in the 87th Thessaloniki International Trade Fair

The Museum of Byzantine Culture, in the context of its extroverted policy and its constant effort to cultivate a dynamic relationship with the public, successfully participated in the 87th Thessaloniki International Trade Fair with the innovative and successful educational activity, titled “Getting to know the Byzantine Seals. From bullae to ips”.
Specifically, the one-hour educational activity (18.00-19.00) was implemented on Wednesday 13 and Friday 15 September 2023 within the space of TIF, at the Pavilion of the Ministry of Culture.
The participants of the workshop (25 in number) had the opportunity to get to know, with the help of digital media and applications, a little-known object of the Byzantine period, the lead bulla, and to seal a Byzantine document by producing their own bulla. The response exceeded our expectations with the participation of different ages and groups (families, seniors, teenagers, etc).
The action was completed with the speech of Dr. Agathoniki Tsilipakou, General Director of the Museum of Byzantine Culture, on the topic of “EDUCATION AND CULTURE. THE MUSEUM OF BYZANTINE CULTURE OF THESSALONIKI IN THE DIGITAL AGE”, which took place on Friday 15 September 2023 from 19.00 to 19.30 p.m.
