The Museum of Byzantine Culture participates in the celebration of the European Heritage Days 2026, held under the theme “Heritage at Risk : Revive, Resist, Reimagine.”

This year’s celebration aims to raise public awareness of the various threats facing our natural and cultural heritage. This theme highlights the importance of preserving the cultural and historical identity of all communities.

The events will take place from Friday, 25 September to Sunday, 27 September 2026.

This year, the Museum of Byzantine Culture is collaborating with the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

As part of the celebration, a group of participants from the Municipality’s Senior Citizens’ Centres (KAPI) will take part in the activity entitled “In search of forgotten occupations.”

On Saturday, 26 September, and Sunday, 27 September 2026, admission to the White Tower and the Museum of Byzantine Culture will be free of charge for all visitors.
