Visit of children from the Centre for Education and Rehabilitation for the Blind of Thessaloniki (KEAT) to the Museum of Byzantine Culture
24.06.2026 - 24.06.2026
On Wednesday, 24 June 2026, the Museum of Byzantine Culture was delighted to welcome a group of children from the Centre for Education and Rehabilitation for the Blind of Thessaloniki (KEAT), as part of the Centre’s Summer Educational and Recreational Activities programme, “Thessaloniki – Summer 2026.”
The children took part in the educational activity “Shall We Play Excavation?”, during which they had the opportunity to excavate, discover and identify clay replicas of authentic museum objects through touch. They then visited the outdoor exhibition “Ivy and Stone”, where they explored the sculptures on display through tactile engagement.
Through touch, play and discovery, the children experienced the archaeological excavation process in an experiential and creative way.
We warmly thank the Centre for Education and Rehabilitation for the Blind of Thessaloniki for its excellent cooperation and trust in the Museum’s educational work.
