{"id":41801,"date":"2022-02-01T11:00:27","date_gmt":"2022-02-01T11:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbp-website.toolstg.gr\/exhibition\/periodiki-ekthesi-me-titlo-i-elliniki-2\/"},"modified":"2023-02-07T12:17:38","modified_gmt":"2023-02-07T12:17:38","slug":"periodiki-ekthesi-me-titlo-i-elliniki-2","status":"publish","type":"exhibition","link":"https:\/\/www.mbp.gr\/en\/exhibition\/periodiki-ekthesi-me-titlo-i-elliniki-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The Greek Revolution in the Russian Press of 1821"},"featured_media":37371,"template":"","class_list":["post-41801","exhibition","type-exhibition","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","location-reception-hall-foyer","exhibitiontype-periodikes-ektheseis-en"],"acf":{"home_page_show":false,"start_date":"20220201","end_date":"20220228","description":"The Museum of Byzantine Culture informs you that in the reception area (foyer) hosts a temporary exhibition which concerns the presentation by the Russian press of the era of the Greek Revolution of 1821.\r\n\r\nIn 2021, Greece celebrated the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the National Liberation Revolution of 1821.\r\n\r\nThe exhibition \u201cThe Greek Revolution in the Russian Press of 1821\u201d, dedicated to the Year of Greek-Russian History, \u00a0presents pages from the section \u201cPolitics\u201d of three very famous and popular journals of St. Petersburg from the collection of the National Library of Russia- the \u201cViewer of Nievsky Avenue\u201d, the \u201cMessenger of Europe\u201d \u2013 and the \u201cSon of the Homeland\u201d.\r\n\r\nThe journal \"Viewer of Nievsky Avenue\" was being published in St. Petersburg on a monthly basis from January 1820 to June 1821. A total of 18 issues were published, consisting of 6 parts. The official publisher of the journal was Ivan Matveevich Snitkin, a graduate of the Moscow University. From January to April 1820, the journal was co-published by the well-known Russian romantic poet K\u00fcchelbeker, who bequeathed us a masterpiece of heroic lyrics \u2013 the \u201cGreek Song\u201d (1821), dedicated to the Greek Revolution.\r\n\r\nThe \u201cMessenger of Europe\u201d was a journal dedicated to European literature, politics, philosophy and culture - the oldest Russian journal founded in 1802 by the great Russian historian and poet Karamzin.\r\n\r\nAlready in the first issues of Karamzin's \"Messenger of Europe\", it was discovered that political unity was the basis and main essence of the journal.\r\n\r\nThe \u201cSon of the Homeland\u201d was a 19th-century Russian historical, literary, and socio-political journal published in St. Petersburg from 1812 to 1852 (intermittently) that influenced the development of social thought and literary life in Russia.\r\n\r\nThe exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Russian Center of Thessaloniki, the National Library of Russia, the Museum of Byzantine Culture, the Writers' Union of Northern Greece and under the auspices of the Consulate General of Russia in Thessaloniki and the Worldwide Saint Petersburg
