In Kordis\u2019 work, the entire history of the island is unfurled like a canvas that enables the artist to invoke figures from beyond the boundaries of space and time, transcending any correspondence or analogy, but always preserving their humanity. Like the poet, Kordis is also enthralled by history yet keeps his gaze fixed on life itself. George Kordis\u2019 \u201cLogbook\u201d has been written in digital print on the foundations of the Byzantine system of painting which has, however, been adapted to the conditions of today and to the terms of contemporary art. Exhibited at the Museum of Byzantine Culture, the \u201cpages\u201d of his logbook consist of 17 digital paintings, printed in gicl\u00e9e on archival canvas. This exhibition is curated by the art historian George Mylonas.\r\n\r\nBorn in 1956, George Kordis is a painter, writer and university professor (he has taught iconography at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Yale University, and continues to teach seminars at educational institutions both in Greece and abroad. In his work, he experiments with various media and techniques, including digital media.\r\n\r\nOn the day of the opening, order of priority will be observed with a limited number of participants (in advance of your visit, please call: tel.\u00a0<\/strong>2313306421, 2313306422).
