The protection and circulation of works of art is always a major issue. The legal framework in this field is a subject for jurists and museums, cultural institutions, artists, art historians and universities, Schools of Law and Schools of Fine Arts. In 2012 a conference on this topic was held in Istanbul, titled "Law and Art". The Thessaloniki Conference aims to further analysis of the issue not only from legal but also from artistic side. Copyright issues will be examined both, in  national and international level, with the participation of experts from Greece, Germany and France. At the start the conference will be addressed by Elli Chryssidou, Vice-Mayor for Culture of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, Agathoniki Tsilipakou, Director of the Museum of Byzantine Culture, Peter Panes, Director of Goethe - Institut Thessaloniki, Christophe Le Rigoleur, Director of the French Institute and Consul General of France in Thessaloniki, Sofia Mouratidou, I.R.E.N.E. President, Prof. Athanassios Kaissis, International Hellenic University. The lectures will be given in Greek, French and German with simultaneous translation. Free entrance.
