The Museum of Byzantine Culture participates in the celebration of the “European Heritage Days”, which, since 1991, are organized by the Council of Europe on the last weekend of September. The subject, chosen by the Directorate of Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, for the two years period 2017-2108 is dedicated to the “city/cities”.
The Museum of Byzantine Culture plans the following actions:
Thursday 21 September 2017 at 19.30 in the Permanent exhibition
1st part: Theatrical readings of selected texts from the Byzantine and Post-Byzantine era in cooperation with the State Theatre of Northern Greece.

2nd part: The author Issidoros Zourgos reads excerpts from his works.
Friday 22 September 2017 at 12.00
Thematic guided tour through the permanent exhibition of the Museum, titled “The city, the world and the saint” by an archaeologist of the Museum.
Saturday 23 September 2017 at 11.00
Thematic guided tour “City(-ies). The route of a neighborhood through time” with the dot2dot group. The action concerns the neighborhood of the Museum of Byzantine Culture starting from the White Tower. Reservations on tel. 2313306433 (Mrs. Chotidou, 9.00 - 12.00). Maximum of participants: 30 persons.
The Museum offers a free entrance for all the above actions.
On the weekend (23 and 24/9/2017) the entrance to the Museum is free.
