The Museum of Byzantine Culture, in the framework of Kazantzakis’ year, presents the performance, titled Heavenly Word-From the Passion to the Atonement, a music-theatrical show, that will be shown inside the permanent exhibition of the museum, on Friday 13, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October 2017, at 20.30.
This is an artistic meeting of Alice Durmaser, director of the Present Being Ensemble Body Theater, of the guitarist Thanassis Gamarazis and of the percussionist Kostas Anastassiadis, designed specifically for the permanent exhibition of the Museum. Inspired by the exhibits and the atmosphere of the Museum of Byzantine Culture, by the poetic work of Andreas Kalvos “Odai”, by Kazantzakis’ “The Saviors of God” and by Ch. Miller’s “Unhappy Angel”, they are composing a music-theatrical journey focusing on Birth - Enlightenment - Death - Renaissance in the individual and collective route of man.
A site - specific theatrical performance consisting of action, live music, a capella songs and interpreted speech which leads us to a theatrical journey through the phases of the transformation of the spirit of man in the effort to advance to Atonement.
A Cooperation of the Divine with the Mortal.
From Birth to Enlightenment, to Death, to Renaissance.
The victory and the defeat and its cyclical rotation.
The Knowledge, the Understanding, the Fear and the Passion.
